This Japanese Flowering Apricot tree will give you an exquisite display of strong fragrant flowers in mid to late winter. The very small-sized blooms can cover most of its delicate looking bare branches during January and February.
Originating in China and Korea it is most often referred to as Japanese Apricot in the west. These small, elegant trees have been cultivated for more than 1500 years and are highly prized in Asia for their beautiful blossoms and fragrant fruits. In China the 5 petals represent the 5 blessings: wealth, health, love of virtue, old age and natural death.
Japanese Flowering Apricot is a small tree with a rounded to oval crown. Older trees have a gnarled branching structure and trunk. Full size Japanese Flowering Apricot grows to 25 feet in height with a similar spread.
