Foemina Junipers are well-known for their natural upright growth.  Its most distinguished feature is their bark that peels off in sections on its own to give a more aged appearance. The foliage grows in tight compact groupings. Best pruned with shears and pinching. It is a terrific candidate for jin and shari which emphasizes old age.

The Great John Naka (Bonsai Master) made Foemina Junipers famous with his eleven-tree forest he began training in 1948.  As a result of his legacy, the Foemina Juniper is now a highly sought specimen in the bonsai world. They are quite easy to care for making them great for Beginners.
